| | okay | ] | Sooo, like I said, warped tour was grrrreat. Here's basicly what all happened:
First performance I saw: Mest I've heard of them, but I've never actually listened to their music. They weren't that bad. I'll probably be getting some of their songs. We didn't really get into the crowd at that point but kind of watched from a close distance (kind of an oxymoron I know). After they finished, Strung out started playing on the other stage. I really only like a few of their songs. They started off with "too close to see" which is the one that I would know the best. They did that one pretty well. I didn't really feel like sticking around for the rest of their stuff though, so I moved on. We walked around for a bit, then found/met up with ashley and some of her friends. We sat on the ground for a bit, then found another band. We saw "Strike Anywhere". The name sounded familiar to me and the more I watched/listened, the more I liked it. Again, another band I want to get more music from. We went back down to the main stage and saw Hawthorne Heights. Later in the day the lead singer walked right past me. I liked them and the performance. I still didn't get too far into the crowd at that time either. No use for a name then started on the other stage. I like them, but didn't really feel like stickin around. We walked around some more, sat some more, etc. etc.... I'm not sure if I remember this order right but I think we saw Senses fail next. That's when I finally got in the crowd and kinda started moshing. I knew a couple of the songs and sung along a little. I guess you wouldn't really call it singing along, but more like screaming or yelling along. Time passes........bands play........blah blah blah..... THEN COMES UNDEROATH. I just started listening to them this year (school year anyways) and I love them. The pit was pretty intense. Everytime they started playing a different song, just the sound of it felt great. Between 2 songs they were talking and said "everything we do is about and thru Jesus Christ, that's not to make you like us or listen to our music more, it's to make you feel uncomfortable." When they said that, I was just clappin and cheering like crazy. lol. It was awesome. Kay well I don't think I remember the order of all the rest so I'll just talk about the bands and whatnot.
Relient K: It was a little bit of a break from the more hardcore stuff. I absolutely loooooove the lead singer. It was pretty cool how he'd switch from the guitar he was playing to the piano right beside him, always singing at the same time. I knew all the words to all of the songs and I wasn't ashamed at all haha. One of my favorite performances of the day. Billy Talent: Well, they're just always great live. It was kind of hard to pay attention to them cause I was getting knocked around in the front most of the time. I decided to escape it by crowd surfing to the front. lol. I love how you can just tap some big guy on the shoulder, ask for a boost and he'll do it. If you fall down, people around you just automaticly pick you up off the ground. Dropkick Murphys: Always a favorite. The pit was a little scary. Probably cause it's more of the real kind of "punkers" that get in there though. People did that circle kinda thing where they just run around in a circle hitting people. Thrice: My favorite. Bottom line. It was good what can I say. My Chemical Romance: Ashley and Nate didn't really wanna see them. I did and I had no problem just going in there without them. I knew all the words to the songs and I really didn't care. Emo kids to the left, 12 year olds to the right. lol.
All in all, it was my big highlight of the month. It was cool seeing bands perform up close with my own eyes instead of just tv. I was pretty surprized that my friends burnt out a lot quicker than I did. I crowd surfed, moshed, got bruised and sunburnt. What a great time. So what show should I see next? |

I am so glad you went to warped tour and grabbed onto another chunk of life experience. It takes me back to another time in my life, except ( regardless of what I don't know about all you do ) I still think you are living it all much better. Give yourself regards. I do everyday...
